What do you want to see in a business website?

I know that very few of these exist (the only others I know of are Design1Online and Paradigm Programming), so this may not be something you've even thought about xD But I figured I'd ask anyways.

When you visit the website for a sim design business, what do you want to see there? Are you interested in the vision/principles of the business, or would you be more interested in pure information about the games? Do you want to know about the owner or could you care less? What would make a site like this interesting for you?

Any ponderings would be greatly appreciated ^^ I am slowly trying to get together my business (to be called South Harbors Media...people following AL may get the reference xD).

Methinks it would depend on what audience your aiming for, and what your goals are for your business.

If it is more for players to read, then focus on deep descriptions of the games, and building excitement around that.

If it is more geared towards potential sponsors, investors, networking, courting clientele for professional services then you will want to play up the business angle.

I don't have a site for my LLC yet as I only have one game, but probably if it were me I'd lean heavy on the business info angle with a section listing the games and descriptions of them. Such as artists have examples of their portfolio. It would be equivalent of my business's resume, so to speak.

I'd want to see a business site more aimed at what that business has to offer, and a description of the business, than just game advertising. (there are better avenues for game advertising) I like business info, and learning about the owners. :) (I'm also biased being an owner, game members might have a completely different view) That said, on HEE I do have an "About Us" page that is bios of the company and staff. It is mostly fun stuff for the players to read. If I was going to make a business site, it would be more business oriented.

Sorry this is a little rambling. I have festive beverages and am not expressing myself well. XD

I am really bad about responding to topics lately.

Thanks so much for the response eve. I always worry that people don't really give a fudge about the owner's story lol, but that seems to not be the case I have found xD Good, I can ramble about myself some more!
