Horseland - The Old Days

Posts: 288 Group: Members Member #43 Joined: Jul 13, 2010	I stopped playing horseland when I saw people were breeding Akhal Tekes and getting Toasters and Refrigerator babies... I talked to Christina a few times and White Oak Stables was one of the reasons she finally switched the breeds over to REAL breeds, lol.

Posts: 2 Group: Members Member #485 Joined: Jul 11, 2011	HL was the first sim I ever played. Along with Neopets. I think NP came first. Horseland became a huge disappointment in 2008 and I quit. There's a similar game called Horse Phenomena which most former HLers play now.

I think the thing that hooked me was that you were only limited by how much time you had, I had lots of free time so I was able to enter tons of shows. Now most sims have a limit on how many shows you can enter or how many times you can do a quest in a day and I lose interest once I hit that max cap... the next closest one I can come up with in terms of quest limits is subeta, but even with a cap of 30 there still is the ability to get bored once they are done.

Was a moderator on there for a while too - being a moderator on there back in the day was nothing like being a moderator nowadays on 'modern' SIMs but Horseland, I think, still remains my favourite sim ever - I was gutted when they changed it according to the tv show and totally blasted the old game donw the drain. So many good memories on there - anyone else ever spend half their time chatting in Arena and B3? Remember Just Bettter & the overbred studs? The uproar when dogs were FINALLY introduced, and people freaked at dogs in HORSEland? Running for club president was epic - so competitive though. I remember Anaconda Design, and Emblas - amongst others! Akela, I actually remember you from HL too - did you breed Trakehners on there, maybe? I know you as one of the oldies. Other familiar names are Swift (she's still there!!), Shade, N.imrod (ugh), Cowgirl Reputation (I'm still in touch with her on and off), Saber (ugh), Siren, Maria@MoonCrest (we've met up a couple times), Aries, KB (remember the Vanilla Teens training group anyone?) Audacious, Silver (sisters), Noel, Sunkissed, Arduous, Ciel, Obzedyon ... ah memories!! I do miss that game. It was fantastic!

Posts: 10 Group: Members Member #647 Joined: Sep 27, 2011	Oh goodness! I used to play it ever since I joined in 2003 on March 14 (yay for stats on the site to show when you signed up XD). I was known as Firestorm with player number 1106535. I got a premium membership and that was so much fun that I had a blast chatting with people in the Arena, pulling the cord for anvils on the spammers, having jokes (pokes causes babies being one of them, lulz!), the list goes on. I made a LOT of money with my "pro pics" and layout making skills that I had messages for one every week or so since my father bought me Photoshop since he loved what I did. It was a great starting point to learn HTML and CSS until they decided to stop CSS which caused a uproar but venomous muse found the solution by using the external code, which was pretty smart. Made LOT of friends: Evanescence, Sphinx, Camden, Sunny, Sterling, forgo (forgotten), vitesse, Pagan, Hidden, Break, [G]uns and [R]oses, Khad, Cassie, Liz@rd, lovin, |LadyLouRoll, Moon Unit, Froggiegurl, tie, DragonGirlofAmerica, and so many more that I can't remember. I remember when the Health bar came in and I sure remember that plant horse as well as the top overbred stud named Aracniphobia. I even remember going on there after school to feed the horses that needed to be fed with those who boarded at my stable. Those days were the best and the most fun I've had online on a sim game xD
