Next year for Trivia, I think it'd be easier if you just had a list of prizes and winners could pick the ones they wanted, and harder questions would be first, so the winners of those would get first pick. |

Second Kitty's comment up there for sure, though I have nothing against people winning multiple times, I think some people got upward of five prizes while the remaining 50 to 80 people attending got nothing haha! |

I thought the whole thing was very neatly organised, and it was both informative and fun. However, with so many presentations/events happening during the whole day I personally would have loved to have like 10-minute pauses between presentations during which no one would be speaking/giving info/doing trivia. I didn't wanna miss anything, so it was a bit difficult to find time to go do some quick stuff in real life. xD But yeah, otherwise it was great. I hope to be there next year as well.

I support Qwig's idea. ;D Siminar was immensely awesome this year. I didn't attend last year, so I can't say what was better, but I will give some improvement suggestions. ^^ First, I'll say that people do tend to talk a lot about unrelated things during presentations. I suggest disabling chat during the actual presentations for all of them, and then having it open on Q&A times and on breaks. It gets kind of cluttered and distracting with everyone posting during presentations. ^^' Second, maybe have some quiet music playing in the background during periods where no one is talking. It would give us something to listen during quiet times. Thirdly, I'd make it a rule where people can't post a trivia answer until Raver actually finishes talking. I know maybe it's partly due to the lag that might make it seem that way, but I don't think so. So don't take an answer if it was submitted before she finished talking? Well, that's all I can really think of. Thank you all for putting together Siminar so that we can all come together as one community at least for a weekend. ^^ I think it's about time SIMs started being more involved with each other. =3 ~Ezra Edit;; As a side note, I support everyone else's ideas too. Definitely limit prizes. Maybe two or three per person? Island Breeze was racking 'em up! (I don't mean to offend you. ;]) Edited by Ezra, Jul 17 2011, 07:40 PM.

I know you guys were running on a tight schedule but I like Lin's idea of having pauses in between so you could run and get on with RL a bit before coming back. Some of the chatter during presentations was useful but some was off-topic so I'm not sure what would be the best way of making sure that important messages got through (except strict modding of the chat box). As for prizes ... one win per day? Something like that, maybe xD I would've preferred if the talk about trading prizes moved onto the forum, also. I know this is a futile plea but could we have presentations later in the day? Similar started at midnight and went until 10am for me

Yeah, maybe starting a little later in the day would help those who are way ahead of CST time. Maybe 10 or 11? Not much of a time change, but we have so many presentations to get through in only two days. |

I will respond to everyone's posts properly tomorrow when I am awake lol (THANK YOU for the feedback, keep it coming!), but I just wanted to note that the only issue with starting later is that the poor people in the UK already go into the wee hours of the morning. Perhaps we can do a poll asking which times work best for people ^^ It's just tough to try to get the majority all shoved into one time block when we're so spread out x_x |
