I just thought this might be interesting for some of you to see xD This is our member registrations daily for the last month: ![]() This is our daily visits for the last month: ![]() You can plainly see the spikes ha, which are pretty much the same on both graphs. The first one was Monday, when the Scavenger Hunt started. The second obvious one is over the weekend, when we had close to 1,000 views on Saturday. Yesterday we had 520, which is still very high compared to what it was a couple weeks ago. (That dip just before the weekend is when Frivi changed the layout and forgot to put in the tracking code again...woops >>) The other cool things that happened were that our traffic generated from referral links (links to us on other websites) went from about 30% to 50% (THANK YOU OWNERS!). "Siminar" also became the #4 most searched term leading to us. (The first ones, in order, are "frivi", "prosimunion" and "pro sim union"...funny story, I'm not really that popular, it just turns out that there is some kind of gaming site called "friv", which a lot of people search for but end up, frustratingly so I am sure, on my PSU profile instead :P). I just always think it is cool to see this after the weekend is over. I am quite happy with the results. Last year they were a bit skewed because of the mass stampede we had from Furry Paws when we were linked in their news, so considering we did not have that same link this year, I think this was a good turnout xD As for Siminar itself, we had between 50 and 77 people in the room for every single presentation over the weekend. Unfortunately it's hard to say how many individual attendees we had, but I would venture to guess it was somewhere around 100. We've had a very good response with 58 people taking the survey afterward, and these are the results we got (please note some questions could be answered with multiple responses, and I rounded some percentages, which is why it doesn't always equal 100): People heard about Siminar from... 47% attended last year 51% PSU 53% a topic on a game they play 41% a news post on a game they play So a) our marketing volunteers did an awesome job, and b) over half of the attendees we had were new. Demographics 93% Female 3.5% Transgender 2% Male 2% Identifying as Other 50% 18-25 32% 14 -17 5% 26-30 5% 31- 40 5% 11 - 13 2% 41- 50 Reasons for Attending Siminar 85% for Q&A 67% for learning about how games are made 41% because they are interested in developing a game 35% because they are currently developing a game 22% because they own a game and wanted to learn more We also had some responses in the "Other" option of wanting to improve modding skills, wanting to connect with the community, wanting to support the owners of the games they play, and wanting to have their opinion heard by owners. 95% felt their knowledge of sim games increased at least somewhat (45% of these said it increased significantly). 83% were interested in playing a game they had not played before after listening to the Q&A. 98% felt they could talk to owners on a more personal level during Siminar. 92% said they felt more connected to the sim community overall after attending. 100% said they would attend Siminar next year. 78% said they would continue being involved with PSU afterward, and 23% said maybe (nobody said No :D) Thanks again to everyone who helped make this year a success. I kind of had this horrible feeling that maybe last year was just a fluke xD So it was nice to know that it wasn't, and that this can be done again. Edited by Frivi, Jul 19 2011, 02:21 PM.

xD We really have a severe lack of males around here, it is true lol. I think on just about every game I've been on, any time there is a guy EVERYONE knows who he is, because it's such a novelty

I know Exhibited has a bunch of guys... A lot more than most sims anyway. I think it's also a matter of how your gameplay works. I think girls are just more inclined to play games where you take care of virtual animals, whereas guys often migrate towards RPGs (in my experience as a lifelong RPG gamer). For example my brother doesn't really play any sims (though he's a mod on my sites and takes that part seriously, but he doesn't really play the actual game), but he saw me playing Wolf Haven one day and signed up and loves it. I'm guessing because it's completely an RPG and no care aspects that most sims have. Anyway. Interesting stats. c: |

Thank you, it's very interesting to see these stats! Hehe, somehow I thought there would be a bit more people in the 26-30 age range (I'm 27 myself). xD |
