I have been considering Purchasing a Ipad 2. Why - I just found I have Carpal Tunnel ( I knew I had it, but now it just confirms) What I am wondering will it be less painful? With the mouse its very painful and for the wrist typing over the laptop. What is the difference between ipad 2 and ipad 1? Is it true they are coming out with an Ipad 3? What are a few tables you would recommend besides the ipad 2? What are the Cons and Pros of a Tablet Vs. Main Concerns: - Large Size, I have bad eye sight - Multi Tasking - Sims Other: School, I could just use my laptop for school but I would like to know how well this would be for typing, school work, projects, ect. Pandora! Online Radio! I may be taking it to school Now were on the Subject of Apple I would also like to ask. If I will purchase a Ipad or ever a Tablet I would like to get an Shuffle or Nano. I have a phone that just sits and does not do much. It's hooked up with internet, unlimited texting, and is a Droid Charge! Anyways I would like to replace this phone with a Ipad and a Shuffle or Nano. Plus I know the Ipad has a texting app you could use for free! What is the Difference between just getting an basic MP3 to a Shuffle or Nano. I will be using it for skiing and listening to it every second of the day at school so my main concern is how durable is it? I have crashed many times with my phone while I was skiing and broke the phone into pieces then again I was also had a broke my ribs that day to. lol. Anyways I need to know to what extent can they handle. If you get what I mean? Also how much music can they store, I can not find this anywhere? Do you think it is worth to purchase a tablet or Shuffle or Nano. iwatchz; Very nice love them! There also cheap. Good to get away if you don't want the teacher to know you are listening to music. If you put it through the sleeve. hehe! It also covers for a case. This will be a huge change fore me. I have always be a Droid Girl. So I need to know if it is worth the change or not? If you know Droid Products let me know! Or any other Tablets/Music Devices that are very good. Thankyou Everyone! Snowy.Spyder |

I don't know much about the products, but I do have carpal tunnel lol. The biggest thing I can suggest to you is to purchase a wrist cushion (like this: http://pcvalet.co.uk/UsedImages/ThickBox_computer_mouse_wrist_rest%281%29.jpg). You can get the small version like that for the mouse and a longer tube version to sit in front of your keyboard. I use them whenever my wrist is getting sore. It also helps to have a flatter keyboard -- the less you're keeping your wrist bent the better. I don't really see how an iPad would be easier on your wrist to be honest, you're still moving in the same motions repeatedly (sliding, tapping, etc.), though I suppose tapping might be somewhat less of a strain than the mouse xD I personally dislike touch screens, so I just stick with the regular computers lol. The biggest thing is just to give yourself breaks, keep your wrist as straight as possible (that's why the cushions help), and get yourself a good wrist brace to wear at night/while not active. Keeping it straight stops the tendons from being strained more, which cuts down on the soreness. |

Cushion Picture did not show up. Even though I can not have anything touching my wrist and gives me sever pain. Even something as little as holding hands and I also have an issue writing. I am soon getting the Steroid shot, and see how it work out. I was told it won't last long. I was also told that that I should be wearing the braces as often as I can. I will be getting it August 24th. It may not work I was told. I just hope it will because Ski season is coming and I need to be able to grip my poles and for its a big strain for me. As for touch. Maybe I am the generating of touch lol. My first phone was touch, so I don't know any different. I find it much easier. |

Don't take my word for it, because I don't have carpal tunnel syndrome--but it seems to me that an iPad would be a really good idea. I have the iPod touch and so they're both pretty much identical with the touchscreen capabilities--very sensitive, responds to the pads of your fingers so I don't think it would stress out your wrist too much (everything in moderation, though). Sounds better than a mouse to me. If you want a cheaper tablet, you might try the Nook Color, which has wifi and you can have apps and everything--especially great if you're into reading. I love everything Apple, so yeah, I'm really attached to my iPod Touch and think it IS the best mp3 player xD However, I've heard people say that some other types of mp3s are better because the ipods have a spinning harddrive which could possibly be damaged if you're doing extreme sports. How true this is, I have no idea--but worth googling and reading up on. The ipods are great because of the music quality, IMO. |

I have the first version of the Ipad and I adore it. I use mine for games, comic reading, book reading, and googling random questions at the dinner table Xd. Of course with most apps one can expect to pay a couple bucks which can quickly add up, as well as digital versions of books still cost money. That all being said I probably don't use mine as much as I should for the investment (better investment would have been a new desktop computer for me D:) but all I saw was shiny and I had to have. Can't say how it would do for those who suffer from Carpal tunnel as I do not suffer from it. The Ipad in my opinion is a wee bit cramped for long term typing, so in it's usability for school at it's price point may not be very viable. The Ipad does have a very nice app for pandora which is convenient. I also own a nano, the first generation which I probably purchased in 2006 and I still use it to this day. It's battery life isn't as long as it once was but seeing as it's now about five years old it isn't all that shocking. I have never had an issue with my nano even after losing it outside and it was rained on before I found it. XD My sister had one but her friend stepped on it and broke it. |

When I say Nano I mean the 6th generation. The touch model, I would only get because you can transform into a watch. As for the Ipod touch Its to big and inconvenient for Skiing. Or maybe the shuffle is better for me? @ Paige I though nooks (e-readers) can only be used for reading? Yes I love to read, one of my favorite things to do! Though would like to get the Kindle dx maybe for college and not now. Even If I get an ipad I stll was the kindle dx because of the eink. I assume they will come out with more modles of the kindle dx though. @ Lint You need to upgrade! lol! Is playing sims are there okay, or? Ps- These advertisements in text boxes make it hard to type! Yes, but like I said it's the Nook Color, which means you can have apps and wifi (get on the internet) and check your email... the list goes on and on. While it can't quite compare to the iPad, it's cheaper--and the only major difference I see is it doesn't have a camera and it's less expensive (although I'm sure there are lots of other technical differences xD). So yes, it's like a Kindle and iPad combined. |

Most websites load on the iPad except for flash. So, for example, I can go on most sim's main site but attempting to enter chat on some is a no go because they are flash. There are several forums about sidestepping this problem but from the sounds of it, it's mostly hit or miss and require a $10-$30 dollar app. Some people think that the Ipad will never run flash, others are hopeful that they will reach an agreement. Hehe yeah upgrades are always nice but I have problems enough with wanting to spend money. -Eyes large pile of books- |
