I just noticed Mutt-z was down...anyone have any idea why? I know ownership changed hands recently but I wasn't sure if it had something to do with that. |

Yeah...every time I have checked with Mutt-z for a few weeks now it seems to be down. Now I cannot even access the site at all; not even the index page. Such a shame...I had an upgraded account and everything and really enjoyed what I had played so far! |

i believe the owner mentioned something about unpaid hosting fees? I don't remember, I believe it's on the Mutt-z facebook page, though. |

I don't mean to judge but it is a little disheartening when a good game is taken over and then something as simple as the hosting fee causes downtime. |

I agree, Halloumi...I wonder how it makes the original owners feel, too. :c |

I have never played it but I've been following the situation with the owner changes. Was curious how it would turn out. I think this is a good example of why you need to have some money in the bank before you run a game. Depending on income from the game alone may not be enough, especially in the beginning or if things slow down. Not judging either, just thinking this is a good lesson for people wanting to get started. Don't depending on game income alone to support it. |

You've got that right!! It definitely costs some money to make money, especially if you want to do it right the first time. It was a good game that--in my opinion--pioneered some neat features that I hadn't seen before in Dog Sims. Hopefully whoever has it can get a grip on things before too many members jump ship. |

What if they had an emergency that happened and had to use the money for that? Those things do happen... so I don't really see how its right to assume that they can't pay the bill because of lack of funds which may not have been planned. |

It doesn't make me think too highly of the new management =/. As soon as they were taken over they did a donation drive to 'keep the site going' and they're down again due to fees? I dunno, just makes me sad to see it going up and down all the time, luckily it looks like there are still plenty of loyal players who I really hope don't get let down due to all these financial troubles. |

I don't think anyone is making unfair assumptions, just considering the possible reasons for downtime : ) As Tyrant mentioned they did do a fundraiser not long ago at all so it doesn't make much sense for hosting fees to have gone unpaid : ( Also, if it were the case that an emergency came up.. I don't know about anyone else, but regardless my own financial situation, I do not touch my games piggy bank whatsoever. |
