Very interested. But does this include as many copies of the software as we want (as in can we use it for multiple games if we own more than one game) or is it for only one game? |

It's setup so you can put all of your games into one system because you should be reporting them under one type of tax entity (sole proprietor, LLC, S-corp, etc). The final general ledger would show your profit/loss from the whole fiscal year so all you would have to do is print it out and give it to your tax service provider/professional. It does reporting based on the type of payment so you can see how many X types of upgrades you got that day/month/year. That way if you name each of your payments from the game they come from you can see all of the payments made towards one game versus another. Edited by Jade, Jan 30 2012, 02:13 PM.

Oh wow this is awesome. Will most likely be PMing you about this as soon as tonight!! Great product that is very needed! My only concern is safety: the SSL Certificate is generally needed when working outside of PayPal if you take credit cards directly from your own site, correct? What does SSL protect in this program, or most importantly, is this program secure enough to post financial information (I'm assuming) on the internet? Or is this a program you access on your local machine? |

To answer your question, no you don't need to run this software over the internet -- and in that case you would not need SSL. You can always run it locally on your own computer using XAMPP or your own LAMP setup. The SSL certificate is if you plan to use this product online. It will encrypt data as it's being sent back and forth over the internet. The data itself is not encrypted, with the exception of passwords used to access it. However you can choose whether or not you want it to store the personal information in the paypal files to your database (ie first/last name, address, phone, fax). Just to be sure this is clear, SimCountant does not take payments or process payments. It's an accounting software, meaning it keeps track of your incoming and outgoing funds for your business. It can generate/email personalized receipts and your accounting records if you include a special simCountant function in your IPN file (if you want to use this functionality you have to have it online). Otherwise all the data it has access to is what you give it via uploaded files. Edited by Jade, Feb 21 2012, 01:33 PM.
