My review. (as per the rules) I hired Lorien to code a sim and the code I received did not function properly. After many attempts on her part to fix these problems over many months they still went unresolved. The majority of the basic site features had so many bugs that there was no way they would function as I was promised without a re-write. That's not taking into account the security issues and excessive use of mysql queries in all areas of the site that I was only made aware of after I stopped doing business with her and was given a second opinion on the code. She also could not stick to any time table that was quoted to me and things that I was told would be done at a certain time were continuously pushed back again and again. This was an ongoing problem. I do not expect anyone to devote their entire life to my project, but I do expect that if I am quoted a time frame it will be honored. I have requested a refund and she has refused. I am now out the money I paid her for code that I cannot use, and additional funds to fix those mistakes. Lorien has always been very nice to me and I did end up liking her personally, but unfortunately I did not get what I paid for. Edited by coffeeaddict, Aug 15 2012, 10:00 PM.

I've had the same issue as coffeeaddict. Had to pay a new professional coder to go in and totally revamp the site. I also paid in advance to help her our with personal issues at the time to have an instant message feature like facebook coded as an addition to my site and never received final product. (Be aware asking several times for a refund and never received one.) I liked Jess as a person but our situation fell through. Unfortunately, I would not recommend her for your programming needs. |

I met Jess through a referral. I am blind and I called a Texas Division for Blind Services Employment Assistant Specialist. I told her I needed someone who could build a websight shopping cart. My old webmaster was not familiar with doing things as well for accessibility. Jess took on the project and had the sho[pping cart done within a few days. Not long after that, my webmaster decided he couldn't do all the things I needed for a blind accessible website. I called Jess and she was able to take on the project. We started with Go Daddy, switched to Inno Hosting, and then went to liquid server with jJess at the command. many late hours, some sleepless nights, and lots of hot tea and sodas, we resolved all the issues I had with my old webmaster. The website is a work in progress with a lot of things I want to do, add, rearrange, and make more accessible. When we needed a person to create the magazine, her partner, Tam, was able to stepp up and get the magazine out which is our business. I have been more than pleased with all the results of the site and have recommended her to two other customers who are blind. I will say this, takes her work personally and runs my website as if it were her own. Because of this work and dedication, from Jess and her partner, Tam, I have brought them on as full time employees. I know how important it is to have a better than average website when your major business requires an above adequate website, and I get that everyday, no matter what. When I need her or Tam, they are there. I will contine to develop my website with Jess at the command, and have no intention of changing anytime in the future. My website is www.blindambitionsgroups.org and you can see why I have brought her on as team member for the Blind Ambitions Groups. Mark Marvel President and CEO Blind Ambitions Groups |

I have worked with Jess for almost a year now on my site, Acinonyx-sim.com. I will not lie, we have had a few setbacks but, through everything, she has never given up. If the script did not work as I had hoped she would look in to and fix it promptly. She would also make sure to update me on everything that she had done while I was not around via email. And despite being visually impaired, she has always worked to make the site more visually appealing any time I asked. She has tried some new things while working with me and has learned quickly. She has been so patient and dedicated throughout the time I've worked with her. She is a joy to work with and I wouldn't trade her for anyone else. |

I've been doing business with Lorien for almost ten years now. She did work on my old Pern based sim and has done work for me, both personal and professional. No matter what I have asked her to do, she's done without fail. If she didn't know how to do something, she always found a way to make it happen. All of the sites she's done for me have worked and I've never had an issue with functionality or incompatibility. Her code may not be the fanciest, but it always worked well. She always had communicated with me at each stage in the process! I would recommend her to do work for anyone looking for a coder who wants to get a job done! |

Jess currently programs for Vulpes, and she has been really helpful for me. There haven't been many bugs, and despite being blind, she is pretty quick and doesn't give up. She hurries to kill a bug when I report to her. Like Flinx said, Jess updates me by email. Occasionally she asks me for a list of what I'd like to get done, and usually most of what I'd like are completed. Vulpes still needs its final layout, however Jess and I together can figure out what to program next. She is helpful for Vulpes. |

Hello, all! My name is Temari and I'm partners with Jess in our new venture, Kalahari Kats. I've known her for a while now and seen her work over many different sims and projects, including our own. She is very conscientious and communicates every step of the way, ensuring that the person she is working for gets what it is they want. I know a bit about code myself and have gone into the code after she's worked on it and found that it's quite easy to understand and work with. All code has worked well together and not slowed down our servers in any way. We work in a shared server environment and if it were calling information excessively from the database, etc, we'd hear about it! I will always use Jess for my coding work on any site I need done! |

I worked with Jess when I was acting admin for MWH, and had no issues at all with her. She did a lot of minor repairs/work at my request without requiring payment - including fixing coding provided by a different programmer that had nothing to do with Jess's work. When provided with a list of issues that needed resolving on the game, she provided a VERY reasonable pricing list in a short period of time, and worked with me to group together the most important fixes in hopes of having the game owner pay for them. Jess has always been a pleasure to work with, and was a wonderful sounding board for any ideas I had, providing me with ideas on how realistic/difficult it would be to program the ideas that I had. She was always wonderful and professional to work with, and through working with her on MWH, I made a great friend as well :). I highly recommend her to anyone requiring work to be done, and have, in fact, suggested her to a few friends looking for programmers. |
