My name is Jacqueline Ferrigno, and I am a 27 year old artist operating my business professionally since 2005. I have over 10 years’ experience in different media, from sculpture to digital, and everything in between. I have been an independent and freelance researcher since 2003. My background is in Animal Science with a specialty in Marine, Equine, and Canine, and I have written articles on various topics across the board. I work closely with my clients in the beginning to insure we have the same vision. Once everything is agreed upon, I send a preliminary sketch for your approval. During this time you can make changes and alterations to the art work before it goes to the final process. Once everything is finalized you should have your artwork within a months’ time.

Time Turn Around
The time it takes from beginning to end varies on what else I have going on and how challenging the project is. As well as being a Cake Decorator in real life, I also am a College Student. I aim for a one month turn around depending on the complexity of the piece. Time turn around also depends on how cooperative you are in returning emails and approving the process. I typically do not take on last minute jobs as it’s not fair to my current clients. There may be an additional fee for jobs with rush-status. The deadline for the piece to be finished begins after all the details are finalized, so prompt response to emails is vital as I work in order of clients officially booked. I also reserve the right to cancel the arrangement if I feel the partnership is not going to work out, any money paid by that time will be refunded.

Client Appointments: Eastern Time
I prefer to work directly with the future client of the piece, as they have a better idea of what it is they are looking for. Appointments can be arranged through Email, Phone, in Person and other Instant Messaging services. I only book two clients at a time, and there may be a waiting list. Communication is vital. As I may be talking to more than one client at a time, I work on a fist come first serve basis.

Forms of Contact
Email is the first preferred way to contact me: JNFerrigno@gmail.com, once an email is sent, I will provide additional ways to contact me in order to arrange appointments which may be more convenient for you.

Payment and Policy
Payment is to be sent upon completion agreement. Depending on the situation, deposit of 50% may be required. A Digital Copy will not be sent until the payment has cleared. I will provide a visual walk through using JoinMe which will allow you to view my computer screen so I can show you the progress or final pack. I will also walk you through using my Packs if you are unfamiliar. If you misplace the file, or something happens to the layers, I will guarantee to save your file for up to a year and resend you a copy. Once the Pack is sent to you, if you would like me to add additional layers please feel free to contact me for a new agreement. Upon completion a single layer image of the art work will be used in my Portfolio unless asked otherwise. If payment is not received by an agreed upon time after completion, I retain the right to personally use, resell or give away the art work to the public. Payment can be sent via PayPal, an electronic transfer to a WellsFargo/Wachovia Bank, Money Order, or Check.

Artist Rights
Clients and outside parties brought on by clients, have the right to modify the artwork. Clients have some rights to paid commissions, they are: the right to use said images as part of their game online, the right to use in an advertisement for their game via print (business card/magazine/flyer) or online, and the right to not have the Artist sell the rights to the image to an outside party. Commissioning artwork from me does not give clients exclusive-rights to the artwork; this is not work-for-hire. Therefor the client is not allowed to reprint commissioned art work to use for merchandise without an outlined contract. In sum, while the client does not have the right to sell the image on merchandise, the artist cannot sell the rights out from underneath the client to a third party (this protects the client).

Transferring
Clients may resell or transfer previous purchased art work with written consent from the artist. This is to ensure the new party is familiar with their rights to the art work.

Deposit & Refunds
Depending on the situation, a deposit may be required. Refunds are only given for uncompleted work. For example, if you have provided a deposit, but you have approved the sketch to go into the inking process, and then request your deposit back, you will be charged for inking services and refunded the remainder.

Hey JN, is it possible to see an example of the Realistic pack?
maybe with like a giant watermark over every layer or something?

Edit: just saw the draft colour creator... I can't seem to download it though, I get a blank page and nothing starts downloading. :\
Is that draft creator an example of the realistic pack?

I'll see what I can put together. I am heading south the the weekend, and the computer I travel with is just used for coding and line art, the main computer at home is my coloring beast.

As far as the realistic pack, this is the first time I have divided me services into packs. All the previous packs that can be seen on my DA account, are just colors I wanted to make, as well as patterns. The most recent one would be the one I did for Mallory (http://jnferrigno.deviantart.com/art/HuntHorse-SIM-287738071) which I will see about getting a screen shot to show you. But again, Mal just let up the layers for me to create, and she really was more specific about pose, and tack.

I may change the number of base colors, since Mals pack has 48, which gave her a good variety, but I will have to look at the packs when I return Monday.

The key thing about the realistic pack is that I put much more time and effort into it, specially the details. Shading and highlighting of the body is usually 5 layers, plus the shading of the mane and tail. And other details like that which come into play.

So literally I fought all day to get PhotoShop on the laptop so I can work on the go, and then all night dealing with the tablet drivers LOL. I finally got three sketches done for my latest commissions and I figured I would post all the stiff here for you guys to see. Two of the sketches have been approved and waiting to be inked, just waiting on the third.

bausman480: I'll get an example for you soon. I may not have one on this computer, but I can always whip something up. I'm currently crashing at a friend to help her with the kids while the hubby is out of town, and now that the kids are off to school, I need to get going as well lol.

This would be an example of realistic shading. While not done, the shading on the body is 3 different layers, it still needs mane and tail, and the highlighting.
